A necessary and sufficient condition is obtained for the determination of A-stable symmetric Runge-Kutta (RK) collocation methods of degree less than or equal to 7. The Routh-Hurwitz algorithm is used to study the location of the poles of the stability function. The geometry of order-stans of the methods is presented in the space of parameters which are determined by the collocation nodes.
