A manifold \((H^{4n}, \widetilde g)\) is called a hyperKähler manifold if it admits 3 independent complex structures \(I,J\) and \(K\) which satisfy the quaternion identities. \(\mathbb{R}^4\) provides the easiest example of a hyperKähler manifold. A \(2n\)-dimensional manifold in \(H^{4n}\) is called a Lagrangian submanifold with respect to \(J\) if \(J\) interchanges the tangent and normal space. It turns out that the conditions that the submanifold is both minimal and Lagrangian severely restricts the topology of the submanifold. Amongst others the author shows the following results: (1) If \(L\) is a compact minimal orientable Lagrangian immersion in a hyperKähler manifold and the second Betti number of \(L\) equals 1, then \(L\) is a Kähler manifold with respect to one of the other complex structures, (2) if \(n>1\), then we cannot immerse \(S^{2n}\) as a minimal Lagrangian sphere into a hyperKähler manifold.
