For \(0\leq s<n\), the fractional maximal operator \(M_s\) is defined by \[ M_s f(x)=\sup\left\{|Q|^{s/n-1}\int_Q|f(y)|dy;\;Q\;\text{ a\;cube\;with} \;Q\ni x\right\}, \] where \(Q\) has its sides parallel to the coordinate axes. The author gives the necessary conditions and the sufficient ones on weights \(u(\cdot)\) and \(v(\cdot)\), for which \(M_s\) is bounded from the Lebesgue space \(L^p(l^r, v(x)dx)\) into \(L^q(l^r, u(x)dx)\), where \(0\leq s<n\), \(1<r<\infty\) and \(1<p\leq q<\infty\). Here, \(\{f_j\}_j\in L^p(l^r, v(x)dx)\) means that \[ \|\{f_j\}_j\|_{L^p(l^r, v(x)dx)}=\Biggl\{\int_{\mathbb R^n}\Bigl( \sum_j|f_j(x)|^r\Bigr)^{q/r}v(x) dx\Biggr\}^{1/q}<\infty. \] The similar boundedness problem for a Calderón-Zygmund operator is also considered.
