      For \(\Gamma\) a nonzero torsion-free Abelian group, \(\mathcal I = \mathcal I_1 \times \mathcal I_2 \times \cdots \times \mathcal I_n\) with \(\mathcal I_p\) either a \(\{ 0\}\) or \(\mathbb N\), a commutative associative algebra \(\mathcal A_n\) is defined with basis \(\{ x^{\alpha,{\mathbf i}} \mid (\alpha,{\mathbf i}) \in \Gamma \times \mathcal I\}\) over a field of characteristic 0 by \(x^{\alpha,{\mathbf i}}\cdot x^{\beta,{\mathbf j}} = x^{\alpha+\beta, {\mathbf i}+{\mathbf j}}\). Two classes of Lie algebras are constructed, one on \(\mathcal A_2\) and one on \(\mathcal A_4\), by defining new algebraic operations involving certain derivations of \(\mathcal A_n\). A class of Lie superalgebras is defined similarly on \(\mathcal A_2 \times \mathcal A_2\). Conditions for simplicity of these algebras are established.
