In a series of his earlier papers the author has investigated function space structures in the category FTS of \([0,1]\)-topological spaces (= fuzzy topological spaces in the sense of Chang) and in the category FCS of \([0,1]\)-convergence spaces (= fuzzy convergence spaces in Lowen's sense). In the present paper function space structures in the category FUS of fuzzy uniform spaces in Lowen's sense are studied. The author develops the bases of the theory of such structures and considers some special cases such as pointwise convergence and compact convergence. The notion of an equicontinuous set of mappings from a fuzzy neighbourhood space into a fuzzy uniform space is introduced. It is shown that pointwise convergence coincides with compact convergence on equicontinuous sets.
