Every annihilator locally \(C^*\)-algebra is complemented in a unique way. Theorem. Let \(E\) be a Hausdorff locally \(C^*\)-algebra. Then the following conditions are equivalent: (1) \(E\) is an annihilator algebra; (2) \(E\) is a a dual algebra; Besides complemented topological algebras, precomplemented algebras, hereditarily complemented algebras and Krull algebras are investigated. In particular, since a \(C^*\)-algebra is Krull, it is obtained that a \(C^*\)-algebra is dual iff it is complemented.
