Let \(M\) be a compact complex manifold of dimension \(n\). For \(1\leq k\leq n\) a system \(\omega_{1},\ldots,\omega_{k+1}\) of holomorphic 1-forms on \(M\) is said to generate a strict \(k\)-wedge if \(\omega_{1}\wedge\ldots\wedge\omega_{k+1}=0\) and if the \(k+1\) holomorphic \(k\)-forms \(\omega_{1}\wedge\ldots\wedge\omega_{j-1}\wedge \omega_{j+1}\wedge\ldots\wedge\omega_{k+1}\) are linearly independent. The intersection of the kernels of such a generator system defines a singular holomorphic foliation of \(M\) and it follows from work of \textit{F. Catanese} [Invent. Math. 104, No. 2, 263-289 (1991; Zbl 0743.32025)] that every system of closed 1-forms on \(M\) generating a strict \(k\)-wedge defines a holomorphic map of \(M\) onto a \(k\)-dimensional normal Moishezon space \(N\) of general type such that every generator of the \(k\)-wedge is a pull back of a holomorphic 1-form on \(N\). Moreover \(N\) is of general Albanese type, i.e. the desingularization of \(N\) is mapped by its Albanese map onto a \(k\)-dimensional complex variety of general type. The paper under review shows that there are special situations in the non-Kählerian case where every generator of a strict \(k\)-wedge is closed. For instance, it is proved that the existence of a strict \(n\)-wedge implies that \(M\) is a Moishezon manifold, hence every holomorphic 1-form on \(M\) is closed. In the case where the algebraic dimension \(a(M)\) of \(M\) is less than \(n\), the author considers only integrable 1-forms \(\omega\) on \(M\), i.e. \(\omega\wedge d\omega=0\). These forms are all closed if \(a(M)=n-1\). The case \(a(M)\leq n-2\) seems to be much more difficult but is completely solved for \(n=3\). By a detailed description of integrable 1-forms on a threefold \(M\) it is shown that every element of an integrable generator system of a strict \(k\)-wedge on \(M\) is closed.
