Let \(X\) be a Banach space. The first result obtained in the paper asserts that a bounded uniformly continuous function from the real line \(\mathbb{R}\) into \(X\) with discrete spectrum is almost-periodic. Next, the authors consider the first-order Cauchy problem (1) \(u'(t)=Au(t)+f(t)\) \((t\in\mathbb{R})\) assuming that \(A\) is a closed linear operator on a Banach space \(X\) and \(f:\mathbb{R}\to X\) is a continuous function. It is shown that bounded uniformly continuous solutions to (1) with almost-periodic inhomogeneous function \(f\) are almost-periodic provided \(\sigma(A) \cap i\mathbb{R}\) is discrete and \(-i \sigma(A)\) contains no accumulation points of the spectrum of \(f\) (here \(\sigma (A)\) stands for the spectrum of \(A)\). A similar result is established for the second-order Cauchy problem. A generalization to vector-valued functions on a locally Abelian group is also derived.
