Projecting liftings from product probability spaces into the factors, (linear) liftings are transformed into subadditive (resp. superadditive) liftings. Example 2.2 points out that, in general, (multiplicative) liftings cannot be reconstructed. Nevertheless, Theorem 2.9 shows by means of the Mazur-Orlicz theorem, that linear liftings can be reconstructed, provided the factor probability spaces are complete. The class of subadditive (resp. superadditive) liftings is studied in Section 2. In particular, provided that the factor probability spaces are complete, it is proved as a consequence of the Mazur-Orlicz theorem, that the class of all linear liftings coincides with the system of all maximal superadditive liftings (Theorem 2.20). A corresponding result for liftings (instead of linear liftings) is also stated (Remark 2.24).
