A Dupin hypersurface in a space form is by definition characterized by the fact that its principal curvatures are constant along the corresponding principal curvature surfaces, while isoparametric hypersurfaces have constant principal curvatures. In the case of 4 distinct principal curvatures their cross-ratio is called the Lie curvature. The authors show that any irreducible Dupin hypersurface in the 5-sphere with four distinct principal curvatures and constant Lie curvature is equivalent by Lie sphere transformations to an isoparametric hypersurface in the 5-sphere.
