The set product of fuzzy subsets of a groupoid [cf. \textit{W.-J. Liu}, Fuzzy Sets Syst. 8, 133-139 (1982; Zbl 0488.20005)] is a direct consequence of Zadeh's extension principle [cf. \textit{L. A. Zadeh}, Inf. Sci. 8, 199-249 (1975; Zbl 0397.68071)]. \textit{S. Ray} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 50, No. 2, 225-235 (1992; Zbl 0785.20033)] introduced a free product of fuzzy subgroups, which is not associative [cf. \textit{N. Ajmal}, Fuzzy Sets Syst. 60, No. 2, 241-244 (1993; Zbl 0814.20060)]. Now the author introduces a concurrent product called ``penultimate product'' and compares algebraic properties of these three products (the problem of associativity of this new product is omitted). The best properties has the first one (which was explained for level sets of fuzzy factors).
