In a recent paper [J. Algebra 216, 86-104 (1999; Zbl 0933.11020)] the authors examined Baer-orderings and the stronger notion of \(*\)-orderings on division rings with involution \(*\), as well as \(*\)-Pythagorean and strongly Pythagorean divison rings and the more general \(S\)-fields. The main results are the following: The extension theorem (2.4) describes the condition under which a Baer-ordering extends from \(D_1\) to \(D_2\) if \((D_2,*)\) is an \(S\)-field and \((D_1,*)\) its subfield. -- Theorem 2.5 is a characterization of weakly isotropic forms of a formally real \(S\)-field. -- In Theorem 2.6 the authors describe the formally real strongly Pythagorean \(*\)-fields by means of the total semisignature mapping. -- Moreover, the authors give various examples of strongly Pythagorean \(*\)-fields and their properties (3.5). Finally they describe the kernels of the semisignature homomorphisms associated to Baer-orderings.
