This is a direct continuation of part I [\textit{L. Kramer} and \textit{H. van Maldeghem}, Geom. Dedicata 78, No. 3, 279-300 (1999; Zbl 0942.51007)]. The author decides which of the classical compact connected quadrangles contain closed ovoids (or dually, closed spreads). In most cases, the existence of a closed ovoid implies that the point set can be partitioned into closed ovoids. The non-existence results use algebraic topology, viz. results on sections for Stiefel manifolds. Some of the spreads constructed appear to be new.
