\(SK_1\) of affine curves over finite fields (Q1972433)

Let \(k\) be a finite field and \(X\) an affine curve over \(k\), i.e. the spectrum of a finitely generated commutative \(k\)-algebra of Krull dimension one. Then it was known that the \(K\)-group \(SK_{1}(X)\) is always finite and vanishes for several special classes of curves. Using Mayer-Viëtoris arguments, it is shown in this paper that \(SK_{1}(X)\) vanishes for all affine curves over \(k\).
