      The authors study the existence of many nonradial sign-changing solutions of the Dirichlet problem \( \) \(\Delta u + f(u) = 0~ \text{in}~ \Omega_\varepsilon,~~ u = 0~ \text{on}~ \partial \Omega_\varepsilon\), \( \) where \( \Omega_\varepsilon \subset \mathbb{R}^N\) is a thin annulus, (with \(\varepsilon > 0\)), and \(f \in C^1(\mathbb{R})\) has subcritical growth, is superlinear and \(f'(0) < \lambda_1\), (\(\lambda_1\) is the principal eigenvalue of \((-\Delta,~ H_0^1(\Omega_\varepsilon))\). The technique employed involves a Nehari-type variational method and group interaction invariance arguments. The main theorem in the paper extends earlier results by Castro, Cossio \& Neuberger.
