A sketch of the proof of the Abel summability of a series in the root functions of a nonlocal problem for an elliptic second-order equation is given. The integrals which define the problem do not contain an atomic measure at the endpoints of the interval, as it was supposed in previous papers which treated nonlocal problems for such equations.
