Infinite-dimensional linking (Q1974854)

A new concept of linking has been introduced by the author and \textit{K. Tintarev} in Bull. Soc. Math. Belg., Ser. B 44, No. 3, 249-261 (1992; Zbl 0785.58017). In the present paper the author extends this concept to the situation when both linking sets are infinite-dimensional and uses it to prove an abstract critical point theorem for a class of strongly indefinite functionals. An application to the existence of nontrivial solutions of an asymptotically linear elliptic system with ``jumping'' linearization at infinity is given.
