In this paper, \(\mathbb{C} P^1\)-structures on a fixed complex structure are investigated in terms of Thurston's parametrization. A geometric proof for the fact that if a sequence of \(\mathbb{C} P^1\)-structures diverges, the sequence of monodromies also diverges is given. This fact originally was proved by Kapovich. The idea of the proof of this paper is to generalize the concept of realizations of measured laminations in hyperbolic 3-manifolds to that of \(\text{PSL} (2,\mathbb{C})\)-representations of the fundamental group of a given oriented surface of genus \(g>1\), and then observe that the lengths of measured laminations are locally bounded in the space of \(\text{PSL} (2,\mathbb{C})\)-representations, while the length of some measured lamination diverges as \(\mathbb{C} P^1\)-structures on the fixed complex structure diverge.
