The paper is devoted to the numerical simulation of the phenomena of chaotic diffusion in four-dimensional systems generated by volume-preserving maps. As a model example of such maps the authors consider the following one: \[ \begin{aligned} & x_{n+1}=s(x_n\cos\phi_n-y_n\sin\phi_n),\quad \phi_n:=(x_n^2+y_n^2)^k,\\ & y_{n+1}=s^{-1}(x_n\sin\phi_n+y_n\cos\phi_n)+c\sin(x_{n+1}+z_{n+1}),\\ & z_{n+1}=z_n-bt_n^3,\\ & t_{n+1}=z_n+t_n+c\sin(x_{n+1}+z_{n+1}), \end{aligned} \] where \(b,s,c,k\) are the appropriate parameters. In order to indicate the complexity of this diffusion the authors study the diffusion characters in three different regions, i.e. chaotic, hyperbolic, and invariant tori regions. It is shown that the diffusion characters are essentially different for these regions. In particular, the diffusion in the chaotic region occurs to be the fastest, while the slowest one occurs in the vicinity of the invariant torus.
