Let \(M\) be a closed orientable \(3\)-dimensional manifold. A closed surface \(H\) embedded in \(M\) is called a Heegaard splitting surface of \(M\) if \(H\) splits \(M\) into two handlebodies \(V_1\) and \(V_2\). A link \(L\) in \(M\) is said to be in \(g\)-genus \(n\)-bridge position with respect to \(H\) if \(L\) is transverse to \(H\) and \(L \cap V_i\) consists of trivial \(n\) arcs in \(V_i\) for \(i = 1, 2\) [\textit{H. Doll}, Math. Ann. 294, No. 4, 701-717 (1992; Zbl 0757.57012)]. It is a generalization of the \(n\)-bridge decomposition of a knot in the \(3\)-sphere given by \textit{H. Schubert} in [Math. Z. 61, 245-288 (1954; Zbl 0058.17403)]. In this article, the author determines when a \(1\)-genus \(1\)-bridge knot is a satellite knot.
