Equivalence between exact internal controllability of the Kirchhhoff plate-like equation and the wave equation (Q1976597)

The authors establish exact controllability of the Kirchhoff plate-like equation by locally distributed control in terms of the equivalence to exact internal controllability of the wave equation by the same type of control. The proof relies on a frequency domain characterization of exact controllability introduced by the first author in [SIAM J. Control Optimization 35, No. 5, 1574-1590 (1997; Zbl 0891.93016)].
