The author considers capacities with values in boundedly complete Banach lattices, defined as follows. Fix a locally compact Hausdorff topological space \(X\), denote by \(C_0^+(X)\), resp., \(H_0^+(X)\), the set of all continuous, resp., upper semicontinuous, non-negative real valued functions \(f\) on \(X\) with compact support. Put for any given \(h\in H_0^+(X)\): \[ A_h:=\{f\in C_0^+(X): f\geq h\}. \] Let \(V\) be a Dedekind complete vector lattice with positive cone \(V^+\). A mapping \(\theta :C_0^+(X)\to V^+\) is called to be a capacity if it is increasing, positively homogeneous and subadditive. Fix a capacity \(\theta\) and denote by \(M_{\theta}\) the set of all quasi-regular measures \(\mu\) given on a Borel \(\sigma\)-algebra of \(X\) and with values in \(V^+\). The main result is the following: if \(V\) is a Banach lattice with no sublattice lattice isomorphic to \(l^{\infty}\), then the equality \[ \inf\{\theta(f): f\in A_h\}=\sup_{\mu\in M_{\theta}} \inf_{f\in A_h}\int_X fd\mu \] is valid for any \(h\in H_0^+(X)\). The name ``minimax theorem'' given by the author to this result is justified by the following, seemingly still unpublished, statement from the Ph.D. Thesis by \textit{S. A. Ali}: \[ \theta(f)=\sup_{\mu\in M_{\theta}} \int_X fd\mu \] for each \(f\in C_0^+(X)\). For the proof of the main result the developed tools of the theory of Banach lattice valued measures and integrals are used. Many of them are presented in the text with complete proofs and are of independent interest.
