This article is a summary of a talk given by the author concerning one-dimensional topological dynamics. Let \(C(I,I)\) be the class of continuous functions mapping a closed bounded interval \(I\) into itself, let \(\omega (x,f)\) be an omega-limit set of \(x\in I\) with respect to \(f\), denote \(\Lambda (f)=\bigcup _{x\in I}\omega (x,f)\) and \(\Omega (f)=\{\omega (x,f);\;x\in I\}\). The author studies maps \(\Lambda \), \(\Omega \) defined on \(C(I,I)\) by \(f\rightarrow \Lambda (f)\) and \(f\rightarrow \Omega (f)\). In general, these maps are discontinuous and the author shows a nontrivial subset of \(C(I,I)\) upon which \(\Omega \) is continuous. Finally, the range \(R(\Omega)\) of \(\Omega \) is discussed. The list of related open problems is included.
