\textit{Z. Grande} [Real Anal. Exch. 20, No.~2, 631-638 (1995; Zbl 0879.26015)] found inner characterizations of the families of strongly quasi-continuous functions, notation \(f\in Q_s\), that are maximal with respect to addition, multiplication, maximum, minimum, or composition. For example \(\text{Max}_{\text{add}} Q_s=\{f\in Q_s; f+Q_s\subset Q_s\}\) are approximately continuous functions that are continuous almost everywhere. Here, some subclasses \(P\) of \(Q_s\) are defined using abstract properties of functions as an additional requirement added inside of the definition of strong quasi-continuity. The author investigates for what kinds of such abstract properties the results for maximal families in \(Q_s\) can be relativized to the smaller class \(P\).
