This paper considers COVID-19 resurgence in the contaminated environment by mathematical analysis. A epidemic model of COVID is proposed to factor in both the direct transmission by close constants and the indirect transmission from environmental pathogens. The model incorporates susceptible individuals, asymptomatic individuals, exposed individuals, hospitalized individuals, and recovery individuals. The relationships among the basic reproduction number, peak value and final size of the disease are determined. The input of asymptomatic individuals is found to be dangerous from the numerical simulations. It is shown that the detection intensity and environmental disinfection greatly affect the basic reproduction number and total infection size.
