The extremals and isoperimetric extremals of the rotations in the plane are studied. Consider the rotational functional \(\theta[l] =\int^s_{s_0}k(s)\,ds =\int^t_{t_0}k(t)s(t)\,dt\), where \(k(s)\) is the curvature of the curve \(l\) with respect to the length parameter \(s\), and \(k(t)\) and \(s(t)\) are the curvature and the length of the curve \(l\) with arbitrary parameter \(t\). The Lagrangian of these variational problems has the form \(\mathcal{L}= k(t)\cdot s(t)\). Theorem 1. An arbitrary plane curve \(l(t)\) which belongs (at least) to the differentiability class \(C^2\) is an extremal of the integral rotational functional \(\theta[l]\). Theorem 2. Isoperimetric extremals (the length functional \(s[l]\) on \(l\) is constant) of rotation on plane are straight lines only. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1468.53002].
