Let \(f\) be a meromorphic function on \(\Delta(R)\), \(0<R\leq +\infty\) and \(\Omega\) be the Fubini-Study form on \(\mathbb{P}^1(\mathbb{C})\). The growth index of \(f\) with respect to \(\Omega\) is defined by \[c_f=\inf\Big\{c>0\ \Big\vert \ \int_0^R \exp(cT_f(r))\ dr=+\infty\Big\},\] see \textit{M. Ru} and \textit{N. Sibony} [Math. Ann. 377, No. 1--2, 759--795 (2020; Zbl 1441.32007)].\par The author considers uniqueness problems in view of the growth index. One of the results is the following. Let \(f_1\) and \(f_2\) be meromorphic functions on \(\Delta(R)\) with \(c_{f_i}<+\infty\), \(i=1, 2\). Let \(a_i\), \(b_i\), \(i=1, 2, 3, 4\), \(a_i\ne a_j\), \(b_i\ne b_j\) for all \(i\ne j\) be values in \(\mathbb{C}\bigcup \{\infty\}\). Assume that \(\min\{\nu_{f_1-a_i}^0,4\}=\min\{\nu_{f_2-b_i}^0,4\}\) for all \(i=1, 2, 3, 4\). If \(c_{f_1}+c_{f_2}<2/425\), then there is a permutation \((i_1, i_2, i_3, i_4)\) of \(\{1, 2, 3, 4\}\) such that \[\frac{f_1-a_{i_1}}{f_1-a_{i_2}}\cdot\frac{a_{i_3}-a_{i_2}}{a_{i_3}-a_{i_1}}=\frac{f_2-b_{i_1}}{f_2-b_{i_2}}\cdot\frac{b_{i_3}-b_{i_2}}{b_{i_3}-b_{i_1}}\] or \[\frac{f_1-a_{i_1}}{f_1-a_{i_2}}\cdot\frac{a_{i_3}-a_{i_2}}{a_{i_3}-a_{i_1}}=\frac{f_2-b_{i_1}}{f_2-b_{i_2}}\cdot\frac{b_{i_4}-b_{i_2}}{b_{i_4}-b_{i_1}}.\]
