Starting with Pierre de Fermat, the generalized Lebesgue-Ramanujan-Nagell equation \(x^2 + C = \lambda y^n\) where \(x, y, \lambda \geq 1\), \(n \geq 3\) with \(C\) a fixed positive integer has been studied by many authors for decades. There still exists open problems related to this equation. In the paper under review, the authors consider a certain type of Lebesgue-Ramanujan-Nagell equations, namely, \(x^2+2^k 11^l 19^m=y^n\) where \(x, y \geq 1\) are integers, \(k, l, m \geq 0\) and \(n \geq 3\) with \(\gcd(x, y)=1\). They exclude the cases \(2 \mid k\), \(2 \not\mid lm\) and \(5 \mid n\). They show that the equation has no solution in some cases and for the other cases it has finitely many solutions as listed in 4 tables. In the proofs, after some analysis through the cases, they effectively use the ``\(S\)-integral point method on algebraic curves'' where the Magma Computational Algebra System has an efficient algorithm with a combination of some tools of algebraic number theory.
