Let \(C[a,b]\) (resp., \(L_p(a,b)\)) be the space of continuous functions on the closed real interval \([a,b]\) (resp., the space of \(p\)-integrable measurable functions on the open real interval \((a,b)\) and \(p\ge 1\)). The Prabhakar integral of \(f\), a real valued function on \([a,b]\) is defined by \[(\mathcal{P}[\mu,\nu,\rho,\lambda])f(t)=\int_a^t(t-\xi)^{\nu-1}E^\rho_{\mu,\nu}(\lambda(t-\xi)^\mu)f(\xi)d\xi,\] where \(\mu,\nu,\rho\) are positive constants and \(\lambda\) is a real constant and \[\displaystyle E^\rho_{\mu,\nu}(z)=\frac{1}{\Gamma(\rho)}\sum_{n\ge 0}\frac{\Gamma(\rho+n)}{n!\Gamma(\mu n+\nu)}z^n\] for \(z\in\mathbb C\). This power series takes the name of the three-parameter Mittag-Leffler function. The authors establish properties of the Prabhakar integral and essentially show that \(\mathcal{P}[\mu,\nu,\rho,\lambda]\) is a compact operator from \(L_p([a,b])\) to \(C[a,b]\)) (resp., \(L_p([a,b]\)) when \(\nu>\frac{1}{p}\) (resp., \(\nu\in (0,1)\)).
