The concept of an \(F\)-structure of constant rank \(r\) on a differentiable manifold \(M\) was defined by K. Yano as a non-zero tensor field \(F\) of type \((1,1)\) satisfying the equation \(F^3=-F\). Generalizing the \(F\)-structure, S. I. Goldberg and K. Yano introduced the notion of a polynomial structure of degree \(n\) on a differentiable manifold \(M\) as a tensor field \(F\) of type \((1,1)\) verifying the algebraic equation \(Q(x)=x^n +a_n x^{n-1} +\dots +a_2 x+a_1 I=0\). In this paper, the authors define and study two new structures on a differentiable manifold called an \(f_{(a,b)}(3,2,1)\)-structure and a framed \(f_{(a,b)}(3,2,1)\)-structure. By definition, a non-null tensor field \(F\) of type \((1,1)\) on \(M\) is called an \(f_{(a,b)}(3,2,1)\)-structure if it satisfies the equation \(F^3 =aF^2 +bF\), where \(a, b\in \mathbb{R}\) and \(b\ne 0\). The authors present some examples regarding \(f_{(a,b)}(3,2,1)\)-structures and establish some of their fundamental properties. The authors also give a necessary condition for an \(f_{(a,b)}(3,2,1)\)-structure to be an almost quadratic \(\phi\)-structure. The notion of a framed \(f_{(a,b)}(3,2,1)\)-structure on differentiable manifolds is defined. The authors find two semi-Riemannian metrics on framed \(f_{(a,b)}(3,2,1)\)-manifolds and demonstrate that a framed \(f_{(a,b)}(3,2,1)\)-manifold endowed with one of such types of semi-Riemannian metrics is a generalization of some well known manifolds. At the end of the paper, some examples of framed metric \(f_{(a,b)}(3,2,1)\)-manifolds are presented.
