Description of outer derivations of the group algebras (Q1985644)

As clearly stated in the abstract, in this expository paper (it is a based on a talk given at the 2018 at the \textit{International Conference on Topology and its Applications} in Nafpaktos, Greece, and partially based on joint works with A. Arutyunov and A. Shternthe) the author studies the Lie algebra of derivations of the group algebra \(CG\) of a finitely generated discrete group \(G\). After having reported the reasons for a problem of this type and the historical developments of the topic, he investigates the algebra of outer derivation of \(CG\) and shows that it is isomorphic to the group of the one-dimensional cohomology with compact supports of the Cayley complex over the field of complex numbers.
