An important tool in the study of tensor categories [\textit{P. Etingof} et al., Tensor categories. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (2015; Zbl 1365.18001)] is the Drinfeld center construction which produces a braided monoidal category \(\mathcal{Z}(\mathcal{C})\) from a given monoidal category \(\mathcal{C}\). When \(\mathcal{C}\) is a fusion category, then the above braiding is nondegenerate. The Drinfeld center construction is a far-reaching generalization of the quantum double of a finite (super)group \(G\), i.e. \(\mathcal{Z}(\mathrm{Rep}(G))\) in the language of tensor categories. \par One may also realize the quantum double of a finite (super)group \(G\) as the category of \(G\)-equivariant vector bundles on \(G\) where the convolution product corresponds to the aforementioned monoidal product of \(\mathcal{Z}(\mathrm{Rep}(G))\) (for example, refer to Section 2 of [\textit{S. J. Witherspoon}, J. Algebra 179, No. 1, 305--329 (1996; Zbl 0840.19001)]). The author defines an alternate monoidal product on \(\mathcal{Z}(\mathrm{Rep}(G))\) for any finite (super)group \(G\), i.e. \(\mathcal{Z}(\mathcal{A})\) for any symmetric fusion category \(\mathcal{A}\), corresponding to the fiber product in the vector bundle language, and shows that this alternate monoidal product possesses a symmetric braiding (Theorem A).
