The paper begins with a correction of an error located in the inversion theorem (or formula) of the ripplet transform. \textit{E. J. Candès} [Appl. Comput. Harmon. Anal. 6, No. 2, 197--218 (1999; Zbl 0931.68104)] has defined the rideglet transform and further, \textit{E. J. Candès} and \textit{D. L. Donoho}, in the same journal [Appl. Comput. Harmon. Anal. 19, No. 2, 162--197 (2005; Zbl 1086.42022)], have introduced the curvelet transform of which the ridgelet transform happens to be a component. When the curvelet transform is generalized, it yields the ripplet transform under certain restricted conditions on the parameters involved therein [\textit{J. Xu} et al., ``Ripplet: a new transform for image processing'', J. Vis. Commun. Image Represent. 21, No. 7, 627--639 (2010)] and owing to some specific conditions on certain parameters present therein, this ripplet transform reduces to the curvelet transform. The classical Fourier transform plays an important part in the investigation and analysis of problems in this paper. The ripplet transform is further extended in the context of Boehmians employing some already known results (at this point of time the reviewer feels that there are several other very fundamental results and references on Boehmians that the author either has avoided or might have no formal knowledge of). Section~3 studies two Boehmian spaces, based on which and invoking the convolution theorem for the ripplet transform (Theorem~4.1 of the paper), the ripplet transform is further extended to Boehmian spaces. In Section~4, properties for the ripplet transform are pointed out, besides making a study of the convergence from a suitable Boehmian space into another Boehmian space.
