The authors study the family of skew tent maps \(T_{\alpha,\beta}\) where \((\alpha,\beta) \in [0,1]^2\) is the turning point of \(T_{\alpha,\beta}\). They prove that the isentropes are continuously differentiable curves and that the Lyapunov exponent of \(T_{\alpha,\beta}\) can be found using the slope of the tangent line to the isentrope. By providing a way to obtain the slope using the kneading sequence, an efficient new way to find the Lyapunov exponent is given.
