Working on a strict Calabi-Yau manifold of dimension at least three over \(\mathbb{C}\), the author computes the categorical entropy of the autoequivalence given by spherical twist by the structure sheaf composed with the twist by the line bundle \(\mathcal{O}(-1)\). This entropy turns out to be a positive real number and he uses this to show that for a strict Calabi-Yau of even dimension this autoequivalence gives a counterexample to the conjecture of Kikuta and Takahasi claiming that the categorical entropy of an autoequivalence is equal to log of its spectral radius on Hochschild cohomology, which in this case turns out to be zero. The author explains that this discrepancy between the numbers is rather an expected consequence of mirror symmetry.
