Let \(t\ge 2\) be a positive integer. A partition is said to be a \(t\)-core partition if its Ferrers graph does not contain a hook whose length is a multiple of \(t\). Let \(a_t (n)\) denote the \(t\)-core partition function, that is the number of \(t\)-core partitions of \(n\). In the present paper, by using Ramanujan's theta function identities, the author generalizes several results of the congruences modulo \(8\) for \(7\)-core partition function discovered by \textit{S. Radu} and \textit{J. A. Sellers} [Acta Arith. 146, No. 1, 43--52 (2011; Zbl 1226.11112)] by employing the theory of modular forms. In addition, the authors present a new proof of congruences modulo \(8\) for \(23\)-core partition discovered by Radu and Sellers [loc. cit.].
