Let \(F\) be a nonempty set in \(\mathbb{R}^n\). \(F\) is said to be \(M\)-decomposable if it can be written as the Minkowski sum of a compact convex set \(C\) and a closed convex cone \(D\). The set \(F\) is called \(OM\)-decomposable if it can be written as \(F = C + O^+(F)\), where \(C\) is open, bounded and convex and \(O^+(F)\) is the recession cone of \(F\). The authors investigate the connections between \(M\)-decomposability and \(OM\)-decomposability showing that the \(OM\)-decomposable sets are precisely those whose closure is \(M\)-decomposable. Two results concerning \(M\)-decomposable sets are extended to \(OM\)-decomposable sets.
