The authors of this paper investigate the classical problem of the wind in the steady atmospheric Ekman layer with constant eddy viscosity. A new nonhomogeneous system of first order differential equations is established and the turbulent fluxes are retained which is different from the well-known homogeneous system from previous literatures. The authors establish some sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions and the Hyers-Ulam stability for the nonhomogeneous systems under mild conditions via matrix theory. In addition, the authors also consider the nonhomogeneous systems with varying eddy viscosity coefficient and study the systems with piecewise constants, the systems with small oscillations, the systems with rapidly varying coefficients and the systems with slowly varying coefficients and some more continued results are presented.
