Mathematical models of the dynamics of the age structure of the population are nonlocal boundary value problems for partial differential equations. The existing analytical methods for studying such models reduce nonlocal problems to integral equations of the Volterra type. There are many functions reflecting the functional dependence of the mortality rate on the age of the population. From the above list of formulas for approximating the mortality function, the authors choose the Tornquist distribution and the ratio that gives the solution to the local problem. It is shown that the proposed model reflects not only the possibility of degeneration and unlimited growth of the population, but also the effect on the presence of stationary states and their number. It is noted that a certain contribution to the presence of stationary states of the population is also made by the value of the life span of individuals. Note that in the general case it is impossible to find an analytical solution to the problem under a nonlocal condition. This is due to the fact that it is impossible to construct the resolvent of the kernel of the integral renewal equation, to which the nonlocal problem is reduced. Thus, as a result of the study, it was obtained the conditions for the existence of non-negative stationary states of the proposed model.
