\textit{T. Radul} [Topology Appl. 157, No. 14, 2292--2296 (2010; Zbl 1198.54064)] introduced transfinite asymptotic dimension (\(\mathrm{trasdim}\)) as a transfinite extension of asymptotic dimension, and proved that for a metric space \(X\), \(\mathrm{trasdim} (X)\) exists if and only if \(X\) has asymptotic property C (introduced by \textit{A. N. Dranishnikov} [Russ. Math. Surv. 55, No. 6, 1085--1129 (2000; Zbl 1028.54032); translation from Usp. Mat. Nauk 55, No. 6, 71--116 (2000)]). On the other hand, the authors [Topology Appl. 238, 90--101 (2018; Zbl 1387.54019)] introduced complimentary-finite asymptotic dimension (\(\mathrm{coasdim}\)) as another transfinite extension of asymptotic dimension. In this paper, the authors prove that \(\mathrm{trasdim} (X) \leq\mathrm{coasdim} (X)\) for every metric space \(X\), which generalizes the authors' result in [loc. cit.]. Let \(\mathrm{ad}_X\) denote the asymptotic dimension function of a metric space \(X\) defined by \textit{A. Dranishnikov} [Geom. Dedicata 119, 1--15 (2006; Zbl 1113.20036)]. \textit{N. Ozawa} [Int. J. Algebra Comput. 22, No. 2, Article ID 1250011, 3 p. (2012; Zbl 1238.54015)] proved that every metric space with subexponential asymptotic dimension growth has Yu's property A. Note that the following three properties are weaker than finite asymptotic dimension and stronger than Yu's property A: asymptotic property C; subexponential asymptotic dimension growth; finite decomposition complexity (introduced by \textit{E. Guentner} et al. [Invent. Math. 189, No. 2, 315--357 (2012; Zbl 1257.57028)]). In this paper, the authors also prove that, for any non-decreasing function \(g : (0,+\infty) \to \mathbb{N}\) with \(\lim_{r \to +\infty} g(r) = +\infty\), there exists a metric space \(X_\omega (g)\) with finite decomposition complexity such that \(\mathrm{trasdim } X_{\omega}(g) = \mathrm{coasdim } X_{\omega}(g) = \omega\) and \(\mathrm{ad}_X (r) \geq g(r)\) for every \(r\geq 8\), where \(\omega\) is the first infinite ordinal number. This shows that there exists a metric space having asymptotic property C and finite decomposition complexity with arbitrary high asymptotic dimension growth.
