Using the language of Hopf-Galois extensions, in [New York J. Math. 21, 883--903 (2015; Zbl 1358.12001)] \textit{N. P. Byott} stated the following problem: Let \(A\) be a finite skew brace with additive solvable group. Is then the multiplicative group of \(A\) solvable? In this paper. the authors prove that the multiplicative group of a minimal counterexample to Byott's question cannot be simple. As an application, Byott's question has an affirmative answer for all skew braces of size not divisible by three.
