The study is focused on the design of event-triggered control for a system described by a Takagi-Sugeno (TS) rule-based model under the condition of transmission delays. The TS model is expressed in the form of commonly encountered ``if-then'' rules whose conclusions include differential equations with constant matrices and additional unknown ones representing time-varying uncertainty factors. The fuzzy control is also described through a collection of rules. A reliable event-triggered control is constructed by invoking the exponential stability conditions of the TS closed loop. The scheme is derived with the use of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The stability of the controller is investigated under normal operation as well as in the presence of some faults of actuators. Several illustrative examples (mass -spring-damper, robotic arm, and wind power system) are included.
