Restricting cell modules of partition algebras (Q1999349)

The partition algebra is a cellular algebra containing the group algebra of the symmetric group. It is a well-known fact that the restriction of any (dual) Specht module over a symmetric group algebra to its (naturally embedded) smaller symmetric subgroup algebra admits a filtration with each section being isomorphic to some (dual) Specht modules over the smaller symmetric subgroup. In this paper, the author studies the structure of the restriction of a cell module to the group algebra of a symmetric group (with smaller index) and find conditions for the restriction to possess a (dual) Specht filtration.
