Let \(X\subset \mathbb {P}^2\) be an integral plane curve defined over an algebraically closed field. Let \(\mathrm{Dec}(X)\) be the group of all birational automorphisms of \(\mathbb {P}^2\) inducing a birational map of \(X\). This group was described when \(X\) is a line ([\textit{H. Hedén} and \textit{S. Zimmermann}, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 145, No. 9, 3665--3680 (2017; Zbl 1370.14012)]. In this paper the authors describe it when \(X\) is a conic and when \(X\) is a cuspidal cubic, the latter theorem improving a result in [\textit{T. Uehara}, Math. Ann. 365, No. 1--2, 635--659 (2016; Zbl 1362.14034)].
