The present paper studies the symmetric signature which is related to the \(F\)-signature, an invariant of local rings. For a Noetherian local domain \(R\) of positive characteristic with algebraically closed residue field \(k\), the \(F\)-signature of \(R\) is defined as the limit of the quotient of the rank and the free rank of the ring \(R\) viewed as an \(R\)-module. The symmetric signature is defined by the first author and Brenner in a similar manner as the limit of a quotient of sums of the rank and the free rank of rings related to \(R\). In the main result of this paper -- Theorem 2.1, the authors prove that the symmetric signature for two-dimensional cyclic quotient singularities (i.e., invariant subrings \(k[[u; v]]^G\) of rings of formal power series under the action of a cyclic group) is equal to \(1/|G|\).
