Take \(G=\mathrm{SL}(n,\mathbb{R})\) and \(H=S(\mathrm{GL}(n-1,\mathbb{R})\times\mathrm{GL}(1,\mathbb{R}))\). For a parabolic subgroup \(P\) consider the integral \[ \int_{N_P/(N_P\cap H)}\varphi(n)dn, \] where \(N_P\) is a nilpotent radical of \(P\), \(dn\) is an \(N_P\)-invariant measure and \(\varphi \in C(G/H)\). The first result of the paper is a classification of parabolic subgroups for which this integral converges. In this case, one can define the cuspidal form as a function \(\varphi \in C(G/H)\) such that for all \(g\in G\) one has \[ \int_{N_P/(N_P\cap H)}\varphi(gn)dn=0. \] The authors show that ''the closure of the direct sum of the discrete series representations of \(G/H\) coincides with the space of cusp forms''.
