Let \(p\) be a prime. Let \(BP\) be the Brown-Peterson \(\Omega\)-spectrum. Let \(BP\langle n\rangle\) be the intermediate spectra studied by \textit{W. S. Wilson} [Am. J. Math. 97, 101--123 (1975; Zbl 0303.55003)]. Let \(BP_k\) and \(BP\langle n\rangle_{k}\) be the \(k\)-th spaces of \(BP\) and \(BP\langle n \rangle\), respectively. Wilson proved that, for \(k\leq 2(p^n+p^{n-1}+\cdots +p+1)\), there is a homotopy equivalence \[ BP_{k}\simeq BP\langle n \rangle_k\times \prod_{j>n} BP\langle n \rangle_{k+2(p^j-1)}. \] This yields a proof of Quillen's theorem that for any finite complex \(X\), \(BP^\ast(X)\) is generated by elements of non-negative degree as a \(BP^\ast\)-module. Starting with a result of the author with \textit{M. J. Hopkins} [J. Topol. 8, No. 1, 147--183 (2015; Zbl 1349.32009)] which associates a presheaf of spectra \(E_{\mathcal{D}}\) to any rationally even spectrum \(E\), the author of the paper under review shows a Wilson's type splitting of the simplicial presheaves in the spectrum \(BP_{\mathcal{D}}\). He then shows an analog of Quillen's theorem in this context.
