Let \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^d\) be a convex body with smooth boundary and strictly positive curvature. The authors estimate the \(L^p\)-norms of the discrepancy, \(D(\Omega,r,x)\), between the volume and the number of integer points in \(r \Omega - x\); i.e., the initial body \(\Omega\) is dilated by a factor \(r\) and translated by a vector \(x\). \textit{D. G. Kendall} [Q. J. Math., Oxf. Ser. 19, 1--26 (1948; Zbl 0031.11201)] showed that the \(L^2\)-norm with respect to the translation vector \(x\) of such an discrepancy of an oval \(\Omega\) is of the order \(r^{(d-1)/2}\). The authors use this result as a motivation to introduce the normalised discrepancy by dividing the initial discrepancy with this factor. The main results of the paper (Theorem 1.1-1.3 and Corollary 1.4-1.6) give detailed upper bounds on the quantity \[ \left( \int_{\mathbb{R}} \int_{\mathbb{T}^d} \left | r^{-(d-1)/2} D(\Omega,r,x) \right |^p dx\ d\mu(r-R) \right)^{1/p}, \] in which \(\mu\) is a Borel measure that is compactly supported on the positive real line.
