\textit{T. Ohsawa} showed in [Lett Math Phys 105, 1301--1320 (2015; Zbl 1371.37111)] that the Siegel upper half space appears as the Marsden-Weinstein quotient obtained by symplectic reduction of the cotangent bundle \(T^{\ast}\mathbb{R}^{2d^2}\) through an \(\mathrm{O}(2d)\)-symmetry. The purpose of the paper under review is to reinterpret Ohsawa's results and to suggest some possible extensions. Specifically, an open subset of Ohsawa's unreduced space \(T^{\ast}\mathbb{R}^n\times T^{\ast}\mathbb{R}^{2n}\) is interpreted as the frame bundle \(\mathcal{F}(T^{\ast}\mathbb{R}^n)\simeq T^{\ast}\mathbb{R}^n\times \mathrm{GL}(n, \mathbb{R})\) of \(T^{\ast}\mathbb{R}^n\). An intrinsic description of the symplectic structure of \(\mathcal{F}(T^{\ast}\mathbb{R}^n)\) is obtained. There exist several advantages of this picture, one of them being that the existence of a dual pair structure on \(\mathrm{GL}(2n, \mathbb{R})\) yields the realization of the symplectic reduced space of \(\mathcal{F}(T^{\ast}\mathbb{R}^n)\) at all values of the \(\mathrm{O}(2n)\)-momentum.
