It is well known that no projective plane of order 6 exists as a consequence of the 36 officer problem. A near projective plane of order \(n\) is an incidence structure with \(n^2+n+1\) points and \(n^2+n+1\) lines where each line is incident with \(n+1\) points and each point is incident with \(n+1\) lines such that any two distinct lines intersect in at most two points and any two distinct points are both incident with at most two lines. The author constructs a near projective plane with \(n=6\) containing 15 pure lines by extending the dual of the point-line geometry of \(\mathrm{PG}(3,2)\). This construction is unlike the construction coming from almost difference sets in that there are pure lines.
